Weekly Update

Introduction of my self

Hello.  I am going to introduce you to myself.  Who am I? I am Matthew Miller.  What do I do?  I am going to college, and I have started reviewing games for the fun of lifeJ. I am going to try putting out a weekly update every Friday on random stuff mainly video games.  My taste of video games.  Well, everyone loves entertaining games! No one loves a game that they find boring! The difference is that everyone finds different things entertaining.  I love games that are entertaining and not too creepy.  I also like to play first person shooters and I also like racing games.   I laugh at everything out of random because that is who I am.  I am currently playing Midnight Club and I will shortly have a review of this game.

Avatar: Can't Freakin Wait!

I get so tired of the negativity and hasty judgments and comments people on the interwebz feel no qualms about spouting. Anytime some news or a preview/trailer debuts all we hear is "this is the worst thing ever" "this idiot doesn't even know what their doing" and "OMG, why, why, why!"
Just stop it already, reserve judgment for judgment day, instead of jumping to false conclusions based on a scant amount of information. Speaking of judgment day, on August 21st the first trailer for James Cameron's Avatar was released - to just this type of response. Everyone is judging the quality of the film a) without seeing it as it is intended (3D) and b) everyone knows that trailers more often than not are hardly indicators for the overall quality of a film (just watch the trailer for Batman Begins. Awesome movie but an uninspired, formulaic trailer; no wonder it tanked in theaters!). I for one enjoyed the trailer. Now, before anyone jumps on me for being a Cameron fanboy, know this: The first Cameron film I saw was Terminator 2, in 2007. The second was Aliens in fall 2007. I did not grow up watching his films and I have still not seen Titanic. However, when i sat down in front of my tv and watched the Avatar trailer, I sat transfixed by the world Cameron has created. I found my self immediately transported back to my youth, dreaming about aliens and exotic worlds unlike our own. Essentially, simply the trailer scratched an itch that desperately needed scratching. With the steady stream of dross hollywood has bombarded the movie fan with this year, save for a few exceptions such as District 9, the Star Trek reboot, and Inglourious Basterds, it is truly exciting to see somthing that could, potentially, rekindle that childlike sense of wonder. Maybe if we all foresook negitve responses and attitudes, we might start to enjoy life a little more!
